Relaxia: commitment to sustainability and the land

At Relaxia Resorts, we are aware of the importance of preserving the environment and, therefore, we share the commitment to ensure a positive relationship with our community. We strive to ensure that our social and economic impacts are positive and beneficial to the local community of our destinations (Lanzarote and Gran Canaria), wherever possible. The management of Relaxia Resorts S. L. U. has as its main objective the full satisfaction of the needs of its clients, based on the high quality of its services and its solid environmental, social and community performance.

Environmental certifications and seals

The Carbon Footprint Registry Seal, compensation and CO₂ absorption projects is an official seal that allows organizations to clearly and publicly demonstrate their commitment to the fight against climate change.

This seal was created by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge and is linked to the national registry that records the efforts made by organizations to measure, reduce and/or offset their greenhouse gas emissions.

All our establishments hold ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, two of the most internationally recognized standards in the field of quality and environmental management. They consolidate our responsible management model and reinforce our commitment to high-quality, safe and sustainable tourism. ISO 9001 ensures that our processes are focused on service excellence, continuous improvement and full customer satisfaction.

ISO 14001 certifies that we manage our operations according to strict environmental criteria, aimed at reducing impacts, optimizing the use of resources and improving our environmental performance. This standard endorses our commitment to sustainability, pollution prevention and the protection of the natural environment of our destinations.

Environmental Policy

The Management of Relaxia Resorts has as its main objective the full satisfaction of its clients' needs, based on the high quality of its services and its solid environmental, social and community performance. At Relaxia Resorts, we are aware of the importance of environmental conservation.

For this reason, we have implemented mechanisms to control our environmental performance, guaranteeing the adequate protection of the environment through continuous improvement by means of processes or practices that avoid, reduce and control our potential environmental impacts. Complying with legal regulations is considered our minimum standard.

In line with our environmental policy, we focus in particular on the following aspects:

  • Use of Renewable Energies: We encourage the use of renewable energies, such as solar or geothermal, as much as possible.
  • Minimization of Water Consumption: We are constantly working to minimize water consumption in our facilities.
  • Waste Management: We are committed to separate and recycle our waste as much as possible.
  • Sustainable Purchasing: We consider environmental aspects in the purchase of any product.

Community Engagement

In line with our community policy, we focus in particular on the following aspects:

  • Active participation in Asolan: We are active members of Asolan, the association of tourism companies in Lanzarote. Through this forum, we promote and seek to obtain greater economic and social benefits for our community.
  • Collaboration with the Local Community: We work closely with the local community as part of our social participation program, offering opportunities to local artisans and artists and promoting cultural awareness among our customers. We get involved in community projects and maintain open communication to learn about and support the real needs of the community.
  • Priority to Local Products: We prioritize the purchase of local products to support the region, maintain an ethical supply chain and contribute to sustainable development. This also helps preserve the environment by reducing CO2 emissions from transporting goods over long distances.
  • Hiring Local Staff: We prioritize the hiring of local people to support the socioeconomic development of the region.
  • Community Support: We actively promote events that contribute to community outreach and provide support when needed. We donate goods (such as retired furniture, mattresses and bedding) to needy organizations and support local institutions (schools, hospitals, etc.) by facilitating the use of hotel facilities on a free or subsidized basis.
